Yoga Teacher,
Birth Doula, Perinatal Yoga & Baby Yoga
(...and Ommming extraordinaire!)
I have been practising Yoga on and off since i was a child and started teaching in 2003. In 2001 I graduated from professional dance school having completed a 3-year degree course which, in addition to dance, included comprehensive training in Body Conditioning, Anatomy and Physiology. After completing my first teacher training course with the Sivananda school of Yoga, my passion for Yoga was fully realised and I longed to share this joy in the classes that I began to teach.
In what is still a life long journey, I continue to study with a range of teachers and centres, drawing my influence from teachers at the Satyananda centre, the Life centre and Triyoga, as well as completing courses and workshops with Shiva Rea, Brian Cooper, Alexa Harris and David Sye among others. I also take regular trips to India to deepen my practice spiritually, but my biggest teacher lately has been in teaching and guiding women through pregnancy and birth after completing further studies in perinatal Yoga with Francoise Barbera-Freedman at Birthlight and in my training as a Doula with Michel Odent.
I now teach a style of Yoga that incorporates elements of Hatha and Vinyasa flow, as well as meditative practices, sound work and breathing techniques. My aim is to enable those who choose to come on this journey with me to enjoy the many benefits of Yoga, including the opportunity to relax the body and mind, to be present in this moment, to enjoy the gift of life...and to have some fun!

Good friends and fellow yoga teachers Harriet Green and Naomi Absalom met Once Upon a Time in India, both on personal journeys to deepen their understanding of yoga. A life long friendship was cultivated on those holy shores supported by a common vision of teaching and practicing yoga. As good fortune would have it a shared London post code enabled the friendship and vision to flourish and the rest as they say is past karma...!
We have been teaching retreats together for two years now and are thoroughly convinced as to the wide ranging benefits of our combined approach. Not only does this mean that classes are varied and fun, but more importantly you have our constant support in class meaning that we are able to assist you individually in whatever capacity, (a rare and wonderful treat in today's crammed classes). Although we understand teaching 'credentials' to be relevant we feel that perhaps more important to you is our reason and passion for teaching. Our simple and pure intention is to teach from our hearts; what we feel, know and have seen to be true. We firmly believe that it is in this opening - this space - that the true spirit can be nourished and encouraged to grow. In 2010 we will be teaching our Winter retreat in Morocco and are on the look out for a new and unique Summer venue. Watch this space! We hope that you will join us on what we believe to be truly special yoga retreats.
